Connect Health Connect on Android
Updated
On Android, FocusPilot reads your sleep and steps through Health Connect. Open Profile, tap Google Health Connect, then Open Health Connect, and allow FocusPilot there.
Connect Health Connect
- On Home, tap your picture at the top to open Profile.
- Tap Google Health Connect. The row says Connect until you have connected.
- Tap Open Health Connect.
- In Health Connect, under Permissions and data, tap App permissions.
- Tap FocusPilot.
- Allow Steps and Sleep. You can also allow access to past data, so FocusPilot can read the days before you connected.
The Google Health Connect row in Profile then says Connected.
On Android, FocusPilot reads sleep and steps only. See What health data does FocusPilot read?
If Health Connect is not installed
Health Connect is part of recent Android versions; on older ones it is an app from the Play Store. If FocusPilot cannot find it, it says “Health Connect is not available or installed on this device.” and offers Open Play Store.
- Tap Open Play Store and install Health Connect.
- Go back to FocusPilot and tap Open Health Connect again.
- Continue from step 4 above.
Other ways to connect
- During setup: if you answered the health question when you set up FocusPilot, you may already be connected.
- From the Mentor Brief: while health is missing from the reading, Connect appears under Not in the reading yet on the Brief’s overview and asks for access directly.
To change or remove access later, see Disconnect a health app or change what it reads.
