Choose which FocusPilot notifications you get

Updated

To choose your notifications, open your Profile, tap Notifications, and switch each category on or off under Categories. You can also silence a single notification, hide goal names on the lock screen, and see the daily limit below.

Turn notification categories on or off

  1. Open your Profile: on Home, tap your profile picture at the top right.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Under Categories, switch each kind on or off.

The categories are:

  • Daily direction: your daily plan, priorities and timely resets.
  • Goals & accountability: reminders for commitments, milestones and goal progress.
  • Mentor: when your Mentor has something useful to share.
  • Insights & reviews: weekly reviews and progress patterns.
  • Today’s Read: a daily prompt for your read.
  • Check-ins: occasional check-ins when FocusPilot can help.
  • Product updates: important new features.

Account & essential updates reads Always on. It covers notices about your account and things you asked for, such as the reminder before a free trial ends.

Turn off a single notification

To silence one notification without turning off its whole category, tap Individual notifications at the foot of the Categories list and switch it off there. The row shows how many you have turned off.

Allow notifications on your phone

If notifications for FocusPilot are off on your phone, a card at the top of the Notifications screen says “Notifications are off”. Tap Open system settings and allow them there. If FocusPilot has never asked, the card offers Enable notifications instead. Tap it and allow them when your phone asks.

Hide goal names on the lock screen

Under Delivery, Show goal names in reminders decides what a reminder shows. With it off, reminders stay generic on the lock screen, so the name of your goal is not visible to anyone who sees your phone.

How many notifications does FocusPilot send?

FocusPilot sends at most five notifications a day. That limit covers its own notifications and the goal and task reminders you set, and part of it is kept free for your reminders. Each kind of FocusPilot notification comes at most once a day. If you leave the same kind unopened several times in a row, FocusPilot pauses it for a few days.

Three are set by your phone itself and are not part of that count: a decision review from your journal, a focus session that is running, and a reminder for arriving at or leaving a place.

To change when they arrive, see Set notification times and quiet hours.
