Your first seven days in FocusPilot

Updated

Your first week in FocusPilot is laid out in a starter goal called Your first seven days: one short move a day, from setting your first goal to planning next week. FocusPilot ticks each move once it can see the work.

What should I do in my first week?

A short version of the first week:

  1. Tick your first step on Home when it is done.
  2. Open Your first seven days in Goals and follow one move a day.
  3. Answer your first Today’s Read in the morning.
  4. Ask the Mentor what to do next.
  5. Write your first journal entry.
  6. At the end of the week, pick the one thing next week needs.

The quick start guide walks through the same week with examples.

What is “Your first seven days”?

Your first seven days is a starter goal waiting in Goals after setup. It holds seven short moves, one a day:

  1. Set your first goal
  2. Add the next step
  3. Get your first read
  4. Finish one task on Home
  5. Ask your Mentor
  6. Write your first entry
  7. Set up next week

Since you named a goal during setup, the first move is already ticked.

How are the moves ticked?

You do not have to tick them yourself. Each time you open Goals, FocusPilot checks for the work and ticks a move once the thing it asks for exists. Opening a tab is never enough on its own: a move counts when there is a real result, such as a journal entry or a finished task.

Work you did early is credited too. An entry written on day two ticks day six when you get there.

To do a move now, tap its circle. It takes you to the place where the move gets done.
