What is Today's Read?
Updated
Today’s Read is a short set of questions at the start of your day. You answer a few quick questions about your energy, your thinking and the day ahead, and the Mentor turns them into a read of where you stand, why, what to expect and the one move to make first.
What does Today’s Read give me?
The read is one page that runs from the state of your day to what to do about it:
- the state of your day on a dial, from Overloaded to Recovered, with a score out of 100
- what is due soon and what the read noticed across your data
- why the day looks the way it does
- what to expect today and in the week ahead
- the one move for today
How to read your Today’s Read goes through each part. At the foot, Plan My Day turns the read into timed blocks: see What does Plan My Day do?.
When is a new read available?
There is one read per day. A new one becomes available at 4:00 on your phone’s clock, so a read at 1:00 still belongs to the day before. Once today’s read exists, opening it again shows the same read.
If your day changes, you can refresh the read or start over from the first question.
Where do I open Today’s Read?
- the Today’s Read card on Home, which reads “A few quick answers, then Mentor’s read on your day.” until you answer
- the Today’s Read row in Home’s For today list, which ticks itself once the read is done
- the + in the tab bar, then Today’s Read
What does Today’s Read count for?
- Your streak. Finishing Today’s Read is one of the actions that count for the day.
- Your Focus Score. Your clarity answer becomes the Clarity part of that day’s score.
- Your Trajectory. On the Insights tab, your Trajectory forms after seven days with scheduled tasks and at least three days with a Today’s Read.
