Connect Apple Health to FocusPilot
Updated
To connect Apple Health, open Profile, tap Apple Health, then Open Health app, and allow the data types FocusPilot may read. It takes under a minute.
Connect Apple Health
- On Home, tap your picture at the top to open Profile.
- Tap Apple Health. The row says Connect until you have connected.
- Tap Open Health app.
- Apple’s permission sheet opens. Turn on the data types FocusPilot may read, then tap Allow.
- The Health app opens. You can close it and go back to FocusPilot.
The Apple Health row in Profile now says Connected.
FocusPilot can read sleep, steps, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. The permission sheet also lists Heart Rate, which FocusPilot reads only to work out a resting heart rate when none is recorded. See What health data does FocusPilot read?
Other ways to connect
- During setup: if you answered the health question when you set up FocusPilot, you may already be connected.
- From the Mentor Brief: while health is missing from the reading, Connect appears under Not in the reading yet on the Brief’s overview.
Save your mood to Apple Health
On iPhone with iOS 18 or later, FocusPilot can save the mood from your Today’s Read to Apple Health as a State of Mind entry.
- Apple asks you once whether to allow it.
- If you allow it, each finished Today’s Read adds one State of Mind entry.
- If you decline, nothing is saved, and Today’s Read works the same.
You can change this later in the Health app, with the other FocusPilot permissions.
If it does not work
If Open Health app shows “Apple Health is not available on this device.”, your device does not support Apple Health. If the Health app does not open, FocusPilot opens your phone’s settings instead.
To change or remove access later, see Disconnect a health app or change what it reads.
