What the Activity and Journal charts show
Updated
The Activity chart on Insights counts what you finished each day, and the Journal cards show how often and how much you wrote, plus your most common check-in answers. Both follow the timeframe at the top of Insights: This week, This month or This year.
What the Activity chart counts
Actions counts the things you finished in the timeframe, day by day. Only real output counts:
| Area | What counts |
|---|---|
| Goals | tasks done and goals closed |
| Journal | journal entries saved |
| Mentor | messages you sent to the Mentor, Mentor Briefs you added to your goals and Today’s Reads you answered |
Creating, editing or rescheduling something is not counted. Above the chart, one line names your most active day, for example “Most active: Thursday”.
Read the Activity chart
- The chips All, Goals, Journal and Mentor show one area at a time.
- On All, the total also shows the change against the previous period, for example “+3 vs last week”.
- A day with no actions has no column. That is a real zero, not missing data.
- While the chart is loading, or when you are offline, it shows a dash instead of a number.
The Writing card
The Journal section’s Writing card has three views, chosen with its chips:
- Days: a square for each day, filled where you wrote, with the number of days you wrote.
- Words: words written per day (per month on This year), with the total and its change.
- Mix: the kinds of entry you wrote, such as check-ins, reflections or notes, as one bar with a ranked list.
All entries at the foot of the card opens the Journal.
The Breakdown card
Breakdown shows the most common answer to each check-in question (how you felt, your momentum and your main focus) with its share, and “Based on” the number of check-ins it counts. All answers opens every answer for each question.
Check in a few times in the timeframe and the card fills in. How the check-in works is in What is the journal check-in?
The Health section further down shows your sleep. See Do you need to connect a health app?.
