How to add a goal or task by hand

Updated

To add a goal by hand, open the ⋯ menu at the top left of Goals and tap Add goal, or tap the + in the tab bar and choose Goal. A card opens above the keyboard: name the goal, check its category and deadline, and tap the arrow to save it.

Add a goal

  1. Open the ⋯ menu at the top left of Goals and tap Add goal. You can also tap the + in the tab bar and choose Goal.
  2. A card opens above the keyboard. Type the goal’s name.
  3. Check the category. The card starts on the category you used last.
  4. Tap the deadline tag, which reads Today until you change it, to pick a deadline.
  5. Tap the card’s + for anything else:
    • Success: what success looks like
    • Description
    • Reminder
    • Priority
    • Location, for a reminder when you arrive at or leave a place
    • Attachment: Camera, Photos & video library, Files or Record audio
    • Extract goals, if you would rather let Mentor fill it in
  6. Tap the arrow to save the goal.

The card clears for the next goal, so you can add several in a row. Tap the dimmed screen behind it to close it.

Add tasks to a goal

  1. In Goals, tap the goal to open it.
  2. Tap Add task.
  3. Type the task. The Deadline tag and the Repeat tag sit next to it from the start.
  4. Tap the Deadline tag to pick the task’s day. For a task, the shortcuts are its goal’s deadline, Today, Tomorrow, Next week and Next weekend.
  5. Tap the arrow to save the task. The card clears for the next one.

Inside the goal, tasks are grouped under Today, Upcoming and Done, and the goal shows how many of its tasks are done.

Change a task later

Press and hold a task. The menu lets you edit it, change its day or its priority, duplicate it or delete it.

You can also swipe a task:

  • to the right to change its day
  • to the left to delete it

To give a task a start time and a length, see Set a deadline, start time and duration.
