How FocusPilot uses and protects your health data

FocusPilot uses your health data only to run its own features: your sleep in Insights, Today’s Read, the Mentor Brief and Mentor chats. It is never sold and never used for advertising.
What it is used for
- Insights: your sleep per night for the timeframe you pick.
- Today’s Read: your sleep and recovery compared with your own average over the last seven days.
- Mentor Brief: the health pillar, which counts only a pattern that repeats against your own range.
- Mentor chats: a short summary, while Share Health data with AI is on.

What it is never used for
- It is never used for advertising or marketing.
- It is never sold and never shared with data brokers.
- It is never used to train AI models.
When health data reaches AI providers
Today’s Read, the Mentor Brief and Mentor chats are written with the help of FocusPilot’s AI providers, OpenAI and Anthropic. Your health data reaches them only as a summary, and only while Share Health data with AI is on. Under their terms they do not train on it and keep it for a limited time, generally up to 30 days, for security and abuse monitoring.
Turn it off in Preferences, under Privacy, and your sleep chart on Insights keeps working while Mentor chats, Today’s Read and the Brief work without health data. The steps are in How FocusPilot uses AI, and how to turn it off.
Not medical advice
Nothing in FocusPilot is medical advice. The app describes your sleep and recovery against your own range and does not interpret them medically.
Your control
You can stop access at any time in the Health app on iPhone or in Health Connect on Android. See Disconnect a health app or change what it reads.
