What does the Mentor know about you?
Updated
The Mentor sees what it needs to coach your work: your goals, today’s tasks, how your recent days went, and, if you allow it, your journal check-ins and a health summary. It never sees your email address, phone number or payment details.
What the Mentor can see
- your active goals, how far along they are and their deadlines
- today’s schedule: what is planned, done, open or overdue
- how your recent days went, your Focus Score and your streak
- your recent Today’s Reads and past Mentor Briefs, including which plans you followed
- the topics of your recent chats
- your journal check-ins, if Journal in Mentor chat is on
- a health summary, if you connected a health app and Share Health data with AI is on
What it does not see
The Mentor works from a limited set of profile details. It does not see your email address, phone number or payment details.
Control what reaches the Mentor
You decide what the Mentor reads. Open Profile from your picture on Home, then Preferences:
- Journal in Mentor chat lets your check-ins and journal signals shape replies. Entries are never quoted unless it clearly helps. Turn it off and the journal stays out of every chat.
- Share Health data with AI, under Privacy, removes your health data from every Mentor conversation when it is off. The chat keeps working without it. See How FocusPilot uses AI, and how to turn it off.
To keep the journal out of one conversation only, use Journal in this chat in that chat’s Mentor style sheet. See Change the Mentor’s tone and answer length.
Where your chats go
Your conversations are kept in your chat list until you delete them. Reset Mentor memory in Preferences deletes every chat at once, and the Mentor starts again without a history of your conversations. See Find, pin, rename or delete Mentor chats.
To answer, the Mentor sends your message and this context to FocusPilot’s AI providers, OpenAI and Anthropic. Under their terms they do not train on it and keep it for a limited time, generally up to 30 days, for security and abuse monitoring. The details are in the privacy policy.
