Add photos, voice and drawings to a journal entry
Updated
To add a photo, a voice note or a drawing, tap + in the bar at the bottom of the journal editor and choose what to add. Attachments sit above the entry’s title.
Add an attachment
- In the editor, tap + in the bar at the bottom.
- Choose one:
- Open camera to take a photo.
- Record audio to record a voice note.
- Gallery to pick photos or videos from your phone.
- Drawing to sketch on a canvas.
FocusPilot needs camera access to take a photo and microphone access to record. If either is blocked, allow it for FocusPilot in your phone’s settings.
Draw in an entry
Drawing opens a canvas with:
- three tools: Pen, Highlighter and Eraser
- six colours: Black, Grey, Navy, Green, Crimson and Violet
- three stroke sizes: Thin, Medium and Thick
Undo and Redo step through your strokes, and Done adds the drawing to the entry.
How attachments are laid out
Attachments appear above the title as one block. With more attachments the tiles get smaller and the block keeps its size, so a long entry does not turn into a gallery. A voice note shows its own waveform with a play button. Tap any tile to open it full screen.
When a tile shows an empty frame
If a tile shows an empty frame with a small icon, the file is not on this phone at the moment. It may still be uploading, or it was moved off the phone to free up space. See Why isn’t my journal saving or syncing?.
