Find an old journal entry
Updated
You can find an old journal entry by searching for a word or by browsing the Journal by time. Search covers your titles, your text and your check-in answers.
Search your entries
- Tap the search button at the top of the Journal tab.
- Type a word.
- Tap Your entries to see only what you wrote, or stay on All to include the page templates.
Search looks through the titles, the text and the check-in answers of your entries. Searching for a check-in answer such as Building lists the entries where you answered Building, which is a quick way to find the days when things were moving.
Browse by day, week, month or year
The time frame menu at the top switches the Journal between Days, Weeks, Months and Years.
Days shows one day at a time and opens on today:
- Swipe left and right to move between days.
- A day’s entries sit in a stack with the newest in front. Swipe up to send the front entry to the back.
- To see them one under another, switch the stack to a list with the control at the bottom of the screen.
Years shows the whole year as a field of squares, darker where you wrote more:
- Touch and drag across the squares to read a day.
- Let go on a day you wrote to open it.
- Swipe sideways for other years.
On this day
On today’s page, On this day brings back an entry you wrote a month or a year ago, when there is one.
