Edit a goal: priority, category and comments
Updated
To change a goal’s priority or category, press and hold the goal and tap Priority or Move to…. To add notes, links, files or voice memos, open the goal and use its comments. Each goal also keeps a record of what changed, under View activity.
Change a goal’s priority or category
- Press and hold the goal.
- Tap Priority and pick Priority 1 to Priority 4, or no priority.
- Or tap Move to… and pick Professional, Personal or Health.
The category decides which ring the goal fills on Home: What the three rings mean.
Why does priority change my Focus Score?
The Priority part of your Focus Score weighs each task you close by its goal’s priority:
- a task on a Priority 1 goal counts in full
- a task on a Priority 2 goal counts at 60 percent
- a task on any other goal counts at 15 percent
Give Priority 1 and 2 to the one or two goals that count most this month. The Eisenhower matrix helps you choose which.
Add a comment
- In Goals, tap the goal to open it.
- In the comments, tap Add a comment… and type.
- To attach something, choose Camera, Photos & Video Library, Files or Record Audio.
- Tap Post.
Edit or delete a comment
- Tap the comment’s ⋯.
- Choose Edit or Delete.
See what changed on a goal
- Open the goal.
- Tap its ⋯ menu and choose View activity.
The list shows every recorded change, such as when the goal was created, completed, reopened, paused, renamed or moved, when its deadline or priority changed, and when someone commented.
View activity in the ⋯ menu at the top of Goals shows the same history for all your goals together.
The history starts from the day the feature reached your account, so changes made before that are not in it. Until something changes, it reads “No activity yet”.
