Save a Mentor reply as a goal or journal entry

Updated

Every Mentor reply can become a goal or a journal entry in two taps: open ⋯ under the reply and choose Save as Goal or Save to Journal.

The three icons under a reply

Under every Mentor reply sit three icons:

  • Copy puts the reply on your clipboard with its bullets and numbering.
  • Share makes a picture of your question and the Mentor’s answer and opens your phone’s share sheet.
  • ⋯ opens Save as Goal, Save to Journal and Report response.

Save a reply as a goal

  1. Tap ⋯ under the reply.
  2. Tap Save as Goal.

The Mentor reads the reply and the conversation before it, then creates one goal with its tasks, dates and priority filled in. A panel drops in at the top of the chat showing the new goal. Tap Open to go to it, or Undo to remove it.

If the reply is about goals you already have, FocusPilot shows you the change to confirm before anything is saved.

Save a reply to your journal

  1. Tap ⋯ under the reply.
  2. Tap Save to Journal.

A new journal entry is saved with the Mentor’s text in its own ink, so it never reads as your words. Tap Open in the panel, then edit the entry to add your own thoughts. How entries work is in Write a journal entry.

Ask the Mentor to create it for you

You can also ask in plain words. “Create a goal to ship the pricing page by Friday” sets the goal up, and the same panel shows it with Open and Undo. The shortcuts Create a goal and Create a journal entry in a new chat start the same way.

Report a reply

If a reply is wrong or inappropriate, tap ⋯ under it and choose Report response. The chat confirms with “Reported. Thanks for the flag.”
